Chiropractic associate wanted for busy sports injury oriented practice in Portland, ME. We work with a good mix of athletes, including climbers, triathletes, bikers, nordic skiers, power-lifters, and especially runners, as well as regular active folks. A good percentage of the injuries we typically see are extremity related: Achilles, ITBand, hips, shoulders, etc. in addition to the normal back and neck pain.
Our focus is on injury, pain, and results and a little less on maintenance care (although we have accumulated a lot of maintenance patients.) Looking for a doc with a similar mindset who enjoys problem-solving the root cause of injuries and trying for a true fix. We have a healthy mix of referral sources from local medical practices (including a sports medicine department), physical therapists, personal trainers, coaches, and other patients. We’ve developed some unique and effective protocols utilizing a mix of diversified adjusting, ART, IASTM, and rehab. New doc will be trained in these protocols, and is expected to follow suit.
Currently practice consists of owner and associate. Owner has relocated 1.5 hours away and started a satellite office, and is looking to turn over Portland patients to incoming doc. Our numbers are back to where they were pre-CoVid. Current associate has a long waiting list of patients trying to schedule. Both docs are maxed out and waiting for you to take on patients.
Qualified candidate will possess excellent diversified adjusting skills and should have at least one ART certification (or be willing to attend one seminar). The rest of what we do can be trained, and of course looking forward to whatever unique talents you can bring. New doc will be expected to assist in some marketing to establish his or her numbers. This would take the form mainly of attending some local running races (as they reopen). However we have found with our results-focused approach that once a doc is trained and established very little further marketing efforts are needed beyond communicating with other providers, trainers, coaches, etc. about their referrals.
Portland is a fun town with lots of great food and culture and also outdoor opportunities: local beaches and trails, and mountains within two hours. Also a great place to raise a family. Open to new grads but we’ve also had good luck with docs with some experience who would like to just see patients without the hassle of running a practice. See patients, chart (paper), fill out a super-bill, then go home.
Compensation is percentage based and commensurate with experience level, but competitive. Current associate has worked their way up to making >100K per year on four days a week and you can too. We work hard but also believe in work/life balance. Looking for a minimum two year commitment. Please send cover letter and resume to: [email protected]
