First Visit
First Visit at Dr. Chasse office:
You will receive a friendly greeting from Dr. Chasse's secretaries, Linda and Irene. You will then be asked to complete a sign-in sheet which is required at every visit
A case history will be taken, so we can get a clear understanding of the nature and extent of the problem.
You will then receive a physical examination which will include an orthopedic, neurological and spinal examination, to determine the general health status and specific problems
X-rays may be utilized to further assess the health condition. The x-rays are developed, and then Dr. Chasse will give you a report of the findings and explain to you what he feels is the cause of the problem that you are experiencing. Any questions that you may have will be answered at that time.
If your condition is very severe that first day, you will be sent home and given instructions of what to do to make the muscle relax. You will be advised to apply heat or cold compacts depending on the problem. If you are not in extreme pain that day, an adjustment will be given to the vertebrae involved. The adjustment is usually given by hand. An adjustment consists of placing the patient on a specially designed adjusting table, using specialized techniques pressure is applied to the areas of the spine that are out of proper alignment or that do not move properly within their normal range of motion. Using 30 years of Chiropractic experiences, we will determine the type of adjusting and the frequency with which you will be adjusted. The number of treatments required varies with every patient.
After your first Chiropractic experience, you will be given instructions on proper posture, exercise, etc., and given a treatment schedule. There is no pain involved in receiving an adjustment, and no drugs are involved in getting you back to good health.
If after the examination, we find that you are not a chiropractic case, or that you don't respond to the care that you are receiving in our office, a referral will be made by our office, to either your primary care physician or to a specialist, for a second opinion.
An " Introduction to Chiropractic" booklet , is given to every new patient. The majority of our patients, leave after their first visit, very informed and pleased that they came to our office for Chiropractic care. The length of time for the initial visit will be between 45 to 60 minutes.
