Family of Chiropractors

Something unique has happened in the state of Maine. Six Chasse Chiropractors all practicing in the state of Maine. Mr. and Mrs. Emile Chasse's family consisted of three boys and a daughter. The three boys became chiropractors. Marc, the oldest had three boys and a daughter, and all three sons became chiropractors. Dr. Marc practiced 35 years in Fort Kent. He retired 2 years ago. Dr. Roland has his practice in Saco, and Dr. Tom has practiced 31 years in Waterville. Dr. Dan has taken over Dr. Marc's practice in Fort Kent, Dr. Carl is practicing in Madawaska, and the youngest, Dr. Kevin's practice is in Dover- Foxcroft.

The History behind how the Chasses got involved in Chiropractic started with Dr. Marc in the mid fifties. He had been a very sickly young man suffering from eczema and asthma. He was enrolled to attend an Optometry College. The summer before he started college, he heard that a new Chiropractor had started a practice in nearby Edmonston Canada, and that there was a possibility that this new Doctor could help him with his asthma without the use of drugs. He went for his first visit, received his first Chiropractic adjustment, and the results were so dramatic that he cancelled his enrollment at the Optometry College and applied at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. To this day he has not had any relapse of his asthma. Amazing!!! All the other brothers and nephews had this urge of helping patients without the use of drugs and surgery, so they followed Marc's footsteps.

Drs. Tom and Marc are both past presidents of the Maine Chiropractic Association and also have both served on the Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Kevin is now Vice President of the Maine Chiropractic Association.
